About the opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance Shared Services team. In this role, your primary responsibility is to lead continuous improvement, engagement with Financial Shared Services (FSS) business partners and mentoring team members/direct reports. This includes monitoring relevant employee related cost lines, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, managing queries from business partners as well as supporting the wider EE&I team in driving continuous improvements across all aspects of the team's performance.
What you'll do
4. Holistic P&L and Balance Sheet review and analysis for specific areas
5. Preparation of Financial Statement Analysis notes to the Woolworths Financial Statements at HY and FY
6. Review of reconciliations and ensuring reconciliations are prepared in accordance with the Balance Sheet Guidance Note
7. Communication of risks/opportunities to stakeholders
8. Drive and leave continuous improvement to add value for our business partners
9. Deliver insightful analysis and recommendations to business partners
10. Maintain an effective understanding of business and reporting considerations
11. Maintain stakeholder relationships
What you'll bring
12. Finance-related degree with CA or CPA qualification.
13. 5+ years relevant accounting experience, exposure in retail/large corporate will be advantageous.
14. Strong experience using financial systems in a commercial environment. Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros), Google Suite, SAP, BPC, GCP.
15. Able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience; able to make the complex simple.
16. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
17. Ability to synthesise large amounts of data from a variety of sources
18. Strong presentation and storyboarding skills
