About the role
The Technician Commercial Cookery works to support learning delivery and broader College outcomes. The Technician does this by ensuring that all equipment, instruments, and consumables are available and maintained to meet the training needs of lecturers and students for class sessions and live work. The role ensures materials are adequately stocked and available and equipment is maintained in safe working order.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have experience or qualifications in an industry area related to commercial cookery and/or hospitality, with knowledge of industry requirements to appropriately support training. We are seeking a dynamic/energetic individual with good communication skills, the ability to work with limited supervision, negotiate priorities and organise work to meet deadlines.
A valid WA driver’s licence is a requirement for this position.

Staff appointed to this role routinely undertake active outdoor and indoor work; work in environments that may contain dust and potential irritants and undertake manual handling, including lifting, bending and moving equipment.
A pre-appointment medical assessment relevant to the requirements of the role will form part of the recruitment process.
Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance. If this position involves contact with children, the recommended occupant will also be required to obtain a Working with Children (WWC) Card.
To be eligible for appointment applicants must have a working visa (for fixed term contract appointments) or permanent residency (for permanent appointments).
