Lead Analyst Lead Analyst in HBC
We are hiring for a Lead Analyst in the Households, Businesses & Credit section in the Financial Stability Department. If you are excited about playing a key role in shaping the Reserve Bank of Australia's assessment of the risks to financial stability and the broader economy from the Australian household and business sectors in an ever-evolving economic environment, this role is for you.
About the team:
The Financial Stability Department advises theernors and Board on risks to the stability of the financial system and produces the biannual Financial Stability Review (FSR). It also takes an active role in supporting the Bank's engagement on financial stability policy through the Council of Financial Regulators. The Households, Businesses & Credit section (HBC) assesses the resilience of households, businesses and themercial real estate sector to risks from changing economic conditions using a range of microdata sources and qualitative information for distributional analysis. The team also works closely with other sections across the Bank and other public sector agencies to assess risks to the financial system. It also supports other policy sections of the Bank and the Bank'smunications by developing frameworks and undertaking rigorous analysis to provide assessments of households' and businesses' financial health across the distribution.
Your Role and Objectives:
As a Lead Analyst, you will work closely with the Section Head to drive the team's work program. You will also be expected to undertake rigorous analysis andmunicate your key insights to inform a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders with substantial independence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your people and thought-leadership skills. To this end, you will drive innovation across the department as well as support section management by working closely with and coaching junior staff, as well as sharing responsibilities for steering work of the team. You will frequently engage with other parts of the Bank and other agencies to form andmunicate a holistic assessment of financial stability risks and on policy.
The typical aspects of HBC's work include:
1. Identifying and assessing existing and emerging vulnerabilities to the financial system from the household, business ormercial real estate sectors.
2. Conducting analysis and developing policy considerations in relation to the resilience of these sectors.
3. Monitoring, understanding andmunicating the risks to households and businesses from changing economic conditions and the links to the financial system.
4. Preparing briefing materials and analysis for the Reserve Bank's senior executives.

9. An aptitude for handling data and an interest in developing leadership skills will be highly valued.
10. Post graduate qualifications in economics or a related field and at least four years of work or other relevant experience.
