About the Role
The Training Officer supports the finance functions in staff development and training within the Central Office and Schools. The position liaises with all finance functions to identify training needs and requirements. It is responsible for designing, documenting, scheduling, and conducting programs in several areas or locations, as well as face-to-face or online forums.
The role is responsible for the instructional training material and aids such as handbooks, visual aids, online tutorials and other reference documentation. This role will assist in the induction and development of finance school-related roles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Training Programs
* performing finance and administration-related training across both the Central Office and Schools
* liaising closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure that training is developed in line with the approved processes
* liaising with external training providers to organise specific training and development programs
* assisting in the designing, scheduling and conducting of the training and development programs that can be delivered in the form of individual and group instruction, and facilitating workshops, meetings, demonstrations and conferences
* assisting in promoting internal and external training and development and evaluating these promotional activities
Training Material
* gathering, investigating and researching background materials to understand various subject matters and systems
* preparing and developing instructional training material and aids such as handbooks, visual aids, online tutorials, demonstration models, and supporting training reference documentation
* assisting in managing the central repository of all training-related material
Staff Development
* conducting induction plan and training schedule for new staff in schools
* assisting in identifying high performers in schools that have potential and developing an individual training program
* training and upskilling a “pool” of school finance staff that can be utilised during busy seasons or when staff are on leave
* any other duties as directed from time to time.

* demonstrated high-level organisational skills to be flexible in a complex environment
* experienced with or openness to engaging with emerging technologies, including Technology One, Compass, Microsoft Office software, Google Chrome, Articulate and SharePoint
* demonstrated ability to work unsupervised with limited direction
* proven ability to demonstrate independent initiative and judgement in problem-solving and decision-making
* demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.
In addition, it is desirable for the successful candidate to have:
* post-graduate qualifications
* CA/CPA qualifications
* a current driver’s licence.
