You’ll have a proven track record in providing expert legal support and advice across a diverse range of areas, including commercial law, property law, industrial law and workers' compensation. You’ll be adept at conveying legal concepts in an understandable manner, fostering productive collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, and effectively navigating complex situations to provide clear and concise advice.
What can you expect to be doing?
As Senior Legal Counsel reporting to the General Counsel Legal & Governance, you will be delivering legal advice on complex issues, empowering leaders to make informed decisions that drive our mission forward and uphold our core values of integrity and equity.
* Interpret legislation, agreements, and policies, ensuring our advice aligns with both legal standards and our organisational values.
* Draft complex legal documentation, including contracts, industrial relations documents, reports, letters, policies and procedures.
* Advise on workers' compensation and fitness for work matters, conduct in-depth legal research, and monitor legislative changes to ensure our compliance and readiness to adapt.
* Keep the organisation informed of relevant legal information, proactively identifying risks and providing education and training to staff.
* Lead projects with legal expertise, conduct employment investigations and provide comprehensive reports and recommendations.
* Represent AnglicareSA in complaints and disputes, including the Fair Work Commission and South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
* Maintain our Trademark portfolio, support new trademark applications, and advise on Intellectual Property laws.
What do you need to bring?
* Tertiary qualification in law and admission to the Supreme Court of South Australia.
* 5-7 years post-admission experience with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
* Ability to provide practical, comprehensive legal support and advice across a range of legal areas. Whilst not essential, experience in general corporate/commercial law, or any corporate governance, property, aged care, employment, industrial relations, commercial leasing, and/or insurance law would be advantageous for this role.
* Exceptional research and drafting skills for legal reports, briefings, and advice.
* High-level communication skills to develop productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
