Join the Baker Hughes Project Development team
Baker Hughes is building a Project Development team to continue Taking Energy Forward and helping the adoption and deployment of new Energy Transition projects co-developed by the company for an accelerated path to net-zero.
This team on behalf of Baker Hughes will identify and screen opportunities across the globe where Baker Hughes will leverage market and regulatory opportunities for potential projects across CCUS, geothermal, clean power, hydrogen, energy storage projects while partnering with external organizations, developers, customers and business partners that complement Baker Hughes’ capabilities.
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, screening and defining a portfolio of co-development projects where Baker Hughes can partner with external organizations and establish first mover advantage in the Energy Transition landscape.
What will you be doing?
1. In charge of acquiring, screening, and defining a healthy pipeline of early engagement co-development opportunities in which Baker Hughes will deploy its capital and resources.
2. Identify key partner relationships with external organizations, developers, customers and business partners to develop targeted opportunities across the energy transition landscape.
3. Manage co-development project(s) from inception to JDA (Joint Development Agreement) to FID (Final Investment Decision).
4. In charge of defining scope of project, assessing fit for Baker Hughes capabilities, technical qualifications and gaps, determining project viability including fit of partners, economic and regulatory viability, etc.
5. Liaise and collaborate with internal Baker Hughes businesses to partner and develop a winning solution amongst the available technology options.
6. Identify gaps and improvements in available technology stack to improve and expand solution offerings.
7. Lead discussions with customers and vendors until project closure and provide necessary support during project execution.
8. Continuous assessment covering competition, market, risk allocation and technology developments in the Energy Transition space and articulate implications to BH.
9. Work with BH teams to develop best solution design and optionality with articulation of pros / cons from buyer and seller perspective.
10. Support competitive assessment activities and partner with key stakeholders to develop growth strategies across product offerings with complex and enterprise customers.
Qualifications / Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering, finance or business discipline.
2. Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in energy market and / or Oil & Gas industry with complex Project development expertise.
3. Minimum 8 years’ experience in complex project architecture at an early stage including understanding of current regulatory, permitting and development viability.
4. Ability to balance technical expertise with commercial / financial strategy to foster and build deep relationships with key customers, co-developers and vendors.
