We have recently created a new role of Indigenous Affairs & Ethical Sourcing Manager that will form part of a dedicated team to uphold human rights and support Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
Reconciliation Commitments:
1. Collaborate with internal teams to fulfill Officeworks’ commitments in the Wesfarmers Elevate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
2. Engage with buying, supply chain, and procurement teams to enhance Indigenous supplier outcomes.
3. Partner with external organizations to advance Officeworks’ RAP commitments.
Ethical Sourcing Leadership:
4. Develop and manage Officeworks’ ethical sourcing program, ensuring compliance with Sedex and other audit requirements.
5. Drive worker voice programs and grievance mechanisms to support the well-being of workers in our supply chain.
6. Manage modern slavery reporting and emerging risk management.
7. Manage one direct report who will implement this program of work
About you
We are seeking a strategic advisor who comes with a deep knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture coupled with a solid background in understanding and implementing a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in a complex organisation.
Further you will:
8. Possess experience in delivering sustainability strategies; developing and facilitating training programs aligned to this.
9. Demonstrate previous leadership experience within a business environment.
10. Showcase a collaborative mindset, proactively driving organizational objectives forward.
11. Possess excellent relationship and stakeholder management skill, along with experience in navigating change management processes.
12. Flexibility to travel interstate is required.
Please note: This role is only open to Indigenous applicants. Knowledge, understanding and experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture is required within this role.
