Position: Regional Coordinator - Esperance RegionType: Full-time, fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026Salary Package: $88,000 p.a., plus super and salary packaging, 5 weeks annual leave and two wellness days per annum.About Carers WA: Carers WA is the peak body representing the needs and interests of carers in Western Australia and is part of a national network of Carers Associations providing a range of support services, supporting carers across Western Australia.Responsibilities: The Regional Coordinator role is responsible for providing access to information, capacity building, increasing networks of support and building resilience to empower carers in regional Western Australia.The role will work closely alongside the Carer Gateway Program, providing support with emergency respite referrals, caseload management, Carer Star assessments and assisting support planners to source and arrange service coordination.Promotion of Carers WA Programs will also include providing input and feedback regarding the caring role, Carers Recognition Act, and the Carers Charter.The role will also educate family carers, service providers and mainstream organisations (including local councils, schools, etc.)around the important role of unpaid carers and the assistance that is available for them.Additionally, working with existing Carers WA process and systems, the role will encourage an accessible and inclusive workplace.Workplace Safety: Carers WA promotes a workplace free of physical and psychological harm, however, acknowledges that some roles and inherent actions of our business mean there may be exposure to traumatic narratives.In these instances, and where possible, Carers WA will mitigate the impact of this exposure.Outreach Component: This position involves a significant outreach component, which may involve working remotely or in isolated settings.Additionally, the role may involve exposure to challenging conversations or discussions around suicidal ideation, necessitating the ability to manage such conversations, utilise de-escalation techniques and set appropriate boundaries.Carers WA is dedicated to providing training, resources and supports to equip staff in these areas.Selection Criteria: Qualification relevant to the role or at least 2 years' experience working in a similar role within the not-for-profit community sector.Experience working with carers, people who are aged, have a disability, mental health issues and/or chronic illness.High level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.Proven ability to encourage and build team spirit amongst staff, bring about mutual respect and cooperation.Proficiency using computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, and/or customised client databases, as well as virtual communication modes (phone, Skype, Zoom).Application Process: Please note: Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview.Applications close on Thursday, 5th December 2024.Carers WA reserve the right to begin the recruitment process and withdraw the position prior to the close date/time.Applications must include a covering letter addressing the selection criteria, Curriculum Vitae and contact details of two professional referees.Applications can be submitted online via www.seek.com.au.Carers WA supports a zero harm workplace culture to all internal and external stakeholders.
