The TeamAs part of Public Health Services, Tobacco Control is a small but dedicated team working to improve and protect the health and wellbeing of all Tasmanians through the enforcement of State and National legislation.
The Tobacco control team works closely with other government agencies, retailers, and community groups to reduce the harm caused by Tobacco and other smoking and nicotine related products.The Role:As a Senior Tobacco Control Officer, you will be required to undertake tobacco and nicotine related compliance and assessment activities, including complex investigations and enforcement activities, and stakeholder education.
You will have the ability to gather evidence, maintain accurate records, and prepare high-level documentation, including case files and prosecution briefs.Carry out a range of compliance and educational activities to monitor and regulate smoking product sale and supply in Tasmania.Lead complex investigations relevant to the sale and supply of smoking products in Tasmania and initiate and lead formal regulatory action under relevant legislation.Prepare reports, briefs, and other correspondence for a range of different stakeholders.Details of Appointment:Two Permanent full-time, day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.Salary: $98,255 - $103,069 per annum.
