The Team:The Department of Health seeks a highly motivated and experienced Radiation Therapist for this key leadership position at the WP Holman Clinic, Hobart, Tasmania. The Clinic has 2 Varian linear accelerators, Canon CT simulator, Eclipse planning system and a Gulmay superficial x-ray unit. Radiation Therapy techniques currently in use at the WP Holman Clinic include IGRT, VMAT, DIBH, SBRT & SRT.The Holman Clinic is part of the Cancer and Blood Services stream at the Royal Hobart Hospital, which provides an integrated radiation therapy, medical oncology and haematological service to Southern Tasmania.The Role:The Deputy Chief Radiation Therapist assists the Chief Radiation Therapist in the management and co-ordination of Radiation Therapy services, to ensure that patients receive appropriate and effective quality services in a timely and integrated manner.In consultation with senior clinical staff, they identify, plan and implement quality improvement activities and monitor quality assurance activities of the radiation therapy service. They coordinate research activities related to radiation therapy.You will need to:Assist the Chief Radiation Therapist in the management of the Radiation Therapy section to optimise patient care outcomes.Provide advice on policy, professional and technical matters to the Chief Radiation Therapist as required. Ensure implementation of policies and procedures for the Radiation Therapy section.Be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the quality improvement and quality assurance activities for the radiation therapy section, including the review of protocols and procedures to ensure all documentation is current and complete.Adhere to the organisations CARE Values - Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence.Details of appointment:Radiation Therapist Level 4bPermanent full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Salary: $151,260 to $161,358 per annum.
