Perform complex and diverse technical tasks, engage in independent decision making and judgement on a day to day basis with minimal supervision in the provision of quality technical services to the Forensic Chemistry team. This role includes management of workload and routine maintenance of all instruments in Forensic Chemistry.
Key responsibilities include:
* Adhering to service quality standards and health and safety policies to ensure safe working practices.
* Providing professional-level analytical services and interpreting results for Forensic and Scientific Services.
* Maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating instruments such as GCMS, IC, FTIR, UPLC, and UPLCMSMS.
* Managing and prioritisng workloads to meet client demands and supporting research activities.
* Actively participating in team coordination and assisting in resource planning and procurement.
* Communicating technical information effectively with clients and stakeholders.
* Staying up to date with new technology and facilitating skill transfer within the team.
* Supervising workflow in the instrument room with minimal supervision.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or relevant tertiary qualification in Science with a focus on Chemistry (or equivalent).
* Strong experience in analytical chemistry and instrumentation, particularly GCMS, IC, FTIR, UPLC, and UPLCMSMS.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to quality management and continuous improvement.
* A current class “C” driver's license.
