The role
Crown Sydney has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Workforce Planning professional to join the Crown Sydney team as an Assistant Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. This role plays a significant part in the operations at Crown, providing effective staffing solutions and maintaining adequate workforce distribution to ensure our teams are optimised to deliver elevated experiences for our guests.
This is a high-volume role where you’ll work collaboratively with the Workforce Planning Manager to lead a team of on-site Workforce Planners and Staffing Coordinators towards specific business unit objectives, offering expert advice to key stakeholders to manage labour challenges and drive operational effectiveness. You’ll have significant experience and knowledge around the legal, regulatory and industrial compliance components of rostering, rostering production and the relevant employment conditions and provide guidance to HR and management on any VISA issues raised for formal discussions.
Please note that the start date for this role will be between February – March 2025.
Some of the key responsibilities will involve:
* Rostering and allocating shifts/leave to team members in alignment with WFP policies
* Identifying, forecasting and communicating labour requirements & training to relevant BUs
* Optimising labour across the Crown Sydney property whilst promoting work/life balance
* Routine monitoring, auditing and compliance checks on rosters and time & attendance records to ensure compliance across all relevant industrial instruments
* Managing agency spend and 3rd party labour requirements in line with operational needs
* Ensuring immigration law and Crown Sydney policies are upheld for all VISA holding staff
* Reporting weekly on staff bound by strict employment conditions and restrictions
* Maintenance of all VISA holding employee’s paperwork as it is provided within appropriate Crown systems
* Supporting the WFP Manager in providing guidance to P&C and BU managers on labour issues, discrepancies and/or VISA issues
* Providing SME advice and guidance in regard to labour planning or investigations
* Assisting with coaching and development of WFP team, including performance reviews
* Working closely with operational and support teams including recruitment and P&C to promote operational excellence
You’ll have
* Demonstrated experience in Workforce Planning within the hospitality industry
* Strong background in operations and leadership (gaming, hotels or F&B will be highly regarded)
* Ability to work across the business operating hours, which may include evening and weekend shifts
* Skills to navigate, lead and advise on best practice in a diverse, challenging, and large-scale operation
* Exceptional collaboration, communication and stakeholder management skills
* Demonstrated learning agility and ability to be solution-oriented
* Has or is able to obtain all required Casino Employee Licenses
