Role
The purpose of the Youth Facilitator, Operation Newstart South East is to provide support to the Operation Newstart team, with a particular focus on addressing the needs of participants during and post-program. This will involve working closely with schools, families, and local youth services, and may include providing case management and appropriate referrals (where applicable).

· Computer literacy.
Knowledge/Experience:
· Extensive experience working with young people including Indigenous and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people.
· Extensive experience in program implementation within a community development setting.
· Working knowledge/experience of child rights approach to development.
· Demonstrated working knowledge/experience in preparation of funding proposals.
Qualifications/Accreditations:
1. Tertiary qualifications in relevant or related discipline.

· Any offer of employment at Operation Newstart South East will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Record Check and Working with Children Check, where applicable.
· Current driver's licence (manual) required.
· Some out of hours work will be required in this position.
· Workdays are Tuesday to Friday each week
Conditions of Employment
This vacancy is to replace an employee on parental absence and is for a period of seven years or until the employee absent on leave returns to duty at the school.
Location Profile
Operation Newstart is an innovative outdoor / adventure based early intervention program working with students aged 14-16 years of age, deemed to be at significant educational risk. Operation Newstart South-East (ONSE) is one of five Operation Newstart programs that currently operate within Victoria.
ONSE functions as an alternative setting program and is a collaboration between the Department of Education and Training (DET), Southern Metropolitan Region, Dandenong High School, The Royal Childrens Hospital, Headspace and the South East Local Learning and Employment Network (SELLEN)
