Reporting to Regional Team Leader, this role is primarily responsible for carrying out inspections, investigations, and enforcement functions in regional Victoria. These functions include attendance at venues for compliance inspections, observations at or near relevant premises, conducting risk management discussions, conducting investigations, and compiling reports and other documents for the purposes of prosecution or disciplinary action. When necessary, this role will recommend relevant enforcement actions, such as commencing a criminal investigation or other enforcement action in accordance with policies and procedures.
The role demands flexibility as it requires shift work with variable shift patterns, including afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts, and occasionally requires overnight travel to regional Victoria and to Melbourne.
Some of your duties will include:
1. Undertaking inspections and observations of liquor venues and licensed events in accordance with the allocated inspection/investigations regime provided by divisional management.
2. Conducting investigations involving alleged breaches of the legislation administered by the Commission.
3. Identifying existing or potential risks of non-compliance or social harm arising from the operation of licensed premises and work with licensees to identify, negotiate and implement appropriate responses to ameliorate that risk.
4. Resolving operational issues and managing all complaints promptly and effectively, in accordance with policies and procedures.
5. Engaging with stakeholders and community organisations with a focus on developing and implementing strategies to minimise alcohol related harms

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
6. Demonstrated experience undertaking compliance work. This may include preparation of briefs of evidence and reports where you have made appropriate enforcement recommendations based on the evidence, which would make you a worthy candidate for consideration.
7. Demonstrated experience communicating with various stakeholders both in written and verbal form
8. Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment and in a small team
9. A keen interest in achieving positive community outcomes through a risk- based approach to reducing alcohol related harms.
