About The Role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Disability Support Workerwith experience and training in using aids to assist our clients,and a high level of understanding around manual handling. This roleoffers daily challenges and the chance to truly impact the lives ofpeople living with disabilities.
As a Disability Support Worker in our Accommodation Services,you will provide essential assistance to our high-needs clients,aiding with personal care and daily tasks. You will support clientswho use wheelchairs and have additional medical needs, ensuringthey receive the necessary care.
Our team promotes autonomy and supports residents around theclock, fostering independence within a shared living environment.Your role will involve handling complex situations with empathy andcomposure, making a meaningful impact on others.
About You:
1. Confident in engaging with clientseffectively, building positive relationships, and supporting theirunique needs.
2. Resilient and self-assured, able to work withclients from diverse backgrounds.
3. Skilled in prioritizing tasks anddemonstrating problem-solving abilities.
4. Flexible, with availability for shift work,sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularlyWord and Outlook.
6. Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License,Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers ScreeningCheck.
7. Able to pass a National Criminal HistoryCheck.
8. 3 COVID Vaccination Doses: Fully vaccinatedwith 3 doses.
9. Experience with high-needs Disability clients
10. Certificate III or IV in Disability Support orequivalent (desirable)
11. Demonstrated understanding of the National DisabilityInsurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable)
