The Associate Director of Building Engineering Project Management will spearhead the strategy, planning, design, and delivery of Optus Network Facilities infrastructure nationwide, encompassing Exchanges, Data Centres, Hosting Facilities, Satellite Facilities, Fibre and Radio Access Nodes (FAN), and Controlled Environmental Vaults (CEV).
This key role has national accountability for delivering multiple Network Facilities projects on time and within budget.
The primary responsibilities include:
* Developing medium-term strategies for facilities upgrade and development based on planning and capacity management data.
* Creating detailed 1 to 3 Year Facilities Plans defining projects, timing, and capital budgets, ensuring compliance with corporate risk policies and replacement of aged plant.
* Developing and benchmarking Facilities Build Standards, managing end-to-end project delivery, and collaborating with Procurement to establish supplier agreements.
* Providing specialist consultancy and support services to Facilities stakeholders, maintaining records, and staying informed on industry trends and forecasts.
To be successful in this role, you'll require:
* Tertiary qualifications relevant to Design, Engineering, or Project Management of Facilities infrastructure, including knowledge of Telecommunication Facilities and network power systems.
* Extensive Project Management experience with infrastructure or building-type projects, working understanding of the Building Code of Australia.
* Proven commercial management skills with CAPEX and OPEX budgets, awareness of building/power industry trends, and new technologies.
* Exceptional communication, relationship management, and leadership skills, with experience influencing and presenting to senior management and board-level executives.
