Our client, a independent commission tasked with improving the quality and safety of services funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme, are seeking the experience of a Data Scientist (AI / ML – R / Python) for a long 18+12 month contract commencing in January 2025.
Duties of the Data Scientist (AI / ML – R / Python)
* Construct and maintain efficient data architecture while applying advanced analytics techniques to support data-driven decision-making.
* Collaborate across disciplines such as data science, AI, and machine learning.
* Develop risk models, text analytics, and other tailored solutions, leveraging statistical analysis, machine learning models, and rule-based systems.
* Use advanced analytics and scientific principles to extract valuable insights from structured and unstructured data
* Create multi-faceted reports and data visualisations to effectively communicate findings and business insights to stakeholders
* Solve complex data problems with innovative, efficient solutions by adapting existing techniques and libraries while driving change and fostering a forward-thinking approach.
Skills and Experience Required
* 5 years (or comparable) experience in data science, including production-level model development and deployment.
* Strong coding skills in Python and/or R and experience working with data transformation, machine learning libraries, and relevant tools.
* Experience building, maintaining, and evaluating production pipelines and live data models.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver statistical analyses, machine learning models, and tailored analytical solutions.
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working within an Agile environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and persistence in solving data-related challenges.
* Familiarity with Oracle databases or similar systems is desirable but not essential.
