We are seeking a dynamic Risk Manager to join the First Line Credit Risk team within the Consumer Finance & Digital Line of Business and is responsible for the development and implementation of credit risk strategies to drive profitable growth and help deliver market leading customer experience. Products in scope are credit cards, line of credit, secured and unsecured personal loans across all Westpac Group brands. You will also: Adopting a continuous improvement mindset to design and embed changes to the credit process to improve customer experience whilst focusing on the key risks. Producing credit risk reports and analysis of portfolio trends that help drive changes to improve portfolio performance. Identifying and investigating trends and insights from data to develop and refine credit policies. Maintaining and calibrating credit-related tools and processes such as scorecards, decision engine and system rules to optimise risk / return trade-off. Collaborating with key stakeholders on strategic business initiatives by providing subject matter expertise on risk data, analytics, policy, and guidance on risk appetite. Monitoring regulatory and industry developments and proactively identifying challenges and/or opportunities. What’s in it for me? A minimum of 5 years Australian retail credit risk experience Knowledge of local regulatory environment related to consumer credit Proficient with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis (SAS, SQL, Python, R) Good understanding of credit scoring, scorecard development and monitoring. Strong stakeholder management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing memos for approval Understanding of the Australian retail credit market and competitive landscape Knowledge of Consumer Finance products is preferred, in particular credit cards and personal loans Strong analytical capabilities and willingness to challenge the status quo Intellectual curiosity, learning agility and keen attention to detail What’s it like to work there?
