About the Opportunity
The IFYS Child Protection Residential Care Programs provide a safe and nurturing living environment for children and young people in need. Reporting to the Case Manager, Residential Youth Workers deliver daily care to young people in the Residential Care house.
A day in this role may include supporting young people to manage challenging behaviors, planning or attending activities, and following daily routines to promote life-skills development. Residential Youth Workers complete case notes and administrative tasks daily, as well as maintaining a clean and safe environment.

About You
The ideal candidate is flexible, adaptable, and open to learning, with no two days being the same. Working with young people displaying complex and challenging behaviors requires building rapport quickly and maintaining non-judgmental relationships. This also demands resilience and good professional boundaries. You will be comfortable with computers and completing administrative tasks required. Candidates with transferable skills from working with vulnerable individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
* A QLD Working With Children Blue Card or have applied for one
* Current valid driver's license with no restrictions
* Ability to provide two references from recent employers (including your current line manager)
* Already hold or enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field prior to commencing work
* Availability for various shifts over a fortnightly roster (day/evening/sleepover/weekend)
