Key Role Summary
This is a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2027. The Officer – Resilience (First Nations) will work in East Perth to support and implement targeted programs for First Nations communities.
About the Role
The Officer – Resilience (First Nations) will deliver services directly and mobilize volunteers to achieve service outcomes. This role will also work at a state or territory sector level to increase knowledge and understanding of how disasters impact First Nations communities.
This role will focus on resilience and recovery programs for First Nations communities, but the successful applicant will also work with the broader team to ensure an all-of-community resilience approach is delivered.
What You Will Bring
* You identify as a First Nations person or have significant experience working with First Nations communities.
* Demonstrated understanding of systemic barriers to inclusion for First Nations communities.
* Genuine commitment to working with volunteers and motivating, leading, and supporting volunteer teams.
* Demonstrated sound knowledge, expertise, and understanding of disaster resilience and community development principles.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and ability to apply Red Cross Fundamental Principles to create trust and rapport.
* Ability to support the development and lead the delivery of training, workshops, and resources.
* Advocacy and communication skills, with the ability to positively influence decision-making processes.
* Analytical and evaluation skills, with the ability to use data to inform practice.
Mandatory Requirements
* A valid Western Australian Working With Children's Check.
* A valid Driver's Licence.

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4, with a salary from $85,145.84 FTE + superannuation + salary packaging.
