We’re looking for a professional Senior Financial Accountant with experience in property accounting, project accounting, or ESG reporting, who wants to join our team of 1500 employees and 1000 volunteers to make a difference on a permanent full-time basis working 38 hours per week, or on a 0.8 FTE basis working 30.4 hours per week for the right candidate, based in Fitzroy.
THE ROLE
This role will report directly to the Head of Accounting & Financial Governance and be one of the key leaders in building up financial expertise within the Finance team and creating a centre for accounting excellence that can respond to our growing and diverse needs. With 80+ programs aimed at eliminating poverty, this role will be working closely with Finance and operational stakeholders to respond to commercial and financial needs with practical and effective guidance and solutions.
7. Support the Financial Accounting team and the wider Finance team in being a high performing group committed to integrity, excellence, business partnering and collaboration.
8. Support strategy implementation by ensuring operations and financial systems provide transparency and relevant information as well as continuously enhance processes to meet strategic objectives.
9. Provide advice and account for the implementation of our property strategy across our $128m property portfolio.
10. Provide technical advice and training including guiding new tenders/contracts and advising on revenue recognition and transactional journals.
11. Assistance with the year end audit, preparation of the annual Financial Statements, ACNC reporting requirements, acquittal requirements, and other financial reporting requirements

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:
12. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline;
13. CA or CPA;
14. Understanding of Australian Accounting Standards as it pertains to NFP and experience preparing technical accounting papers;
15. Demonstrated experience in accounting and finance operations management, problem solving, and improvement;
16. Experience in diverse mid-sized ($50-500m) organisations;
17. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team to achieve process and business objectives;
18. Experience in leading finance transformation/ automation projects with a people centric focus and managing significant change
19. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships, advise and liaise across all levels both internally and externally and with people from diverse backgrounds;
