About the role: Our client is looking for a passionate speech pathologist who would love to work either full-time or part-time with flexible hours across schools, early learning services and in their clinic. This role involves providing comprehensive speech pathology services to children of all ages, from early childhood through school age. The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of communication and feeding difficulties, empowering children to reach their full potential. Responsibilities: Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify communication and feeding challenges, including articulation difficulties, language delays, comprehension issues, stuttering, voice disorders, social skills deficits, and oral motor dysfunction. Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's specific needs and goals, utilizing evidence-based practices. Therapy Delivery: Provide direct therapy services in various settings, including our Dapto clinic, preschools, and schools. Sessions are typically 30 minutes long (face-to-face) for both Allied Health Assistant sessions and sessions with qualified therapists. NDIS sessions are billed for 1 hour (including 45 minutes face-to-face therapy and 15 minutes of essential administrative tasks as required by NDIS guidelines). Collaboration: Work collaboratively with parents, families, educators, and other professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care. Provide parents with strategies and tasks to support their child's progress at home. Educational Linkages: Align therapy goals with the learning needs of each child's school stage, integrating therapy with school-based learning. Group Sessions and Intensives: Participate in and contribute to group therapy sessions and holiday intensive programs. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation. For NDIS clients, this includes the required administrative paperwork within the billable hour. School/Preschool Liaison: Collaborate with schools and preschools to provide on-site therapy services when appropriate. For individual billing at schools, a minimum of 4 children must be seen on that day.
