Job Description:
As a Financial Accountant at Essity Australasia, you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with withholding tax and other indirect tax requirements.
* Assist with the preparation of Australian Activity Statements and FBT returns.
* Manage company leases (Lease Accounting (AASB 16) using Innosys software).
* Ensure accurate entry and reconciliation of leases in SAP.
* Maintain integrity of balance sheet accounts.
* Prepare general ledger reconciliations and analyses.
* Identify and resolve balance sheet discrepancies.
* Process general ledger journals and support cross-functional teams.
* Assist in preparing financial statements for Australia and New Zealand.
* Support external and internal audit processes.
* Drive efficiency improvements in financial processes.
* Provide backup support to other finance team members.
* Undertake ad hoc financial reporting and projects.
Requirements:
* A Commerce or Accounting degree and ASA membership of CA or CPA.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
* Demonstrated experience in accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
* A proactive mindset with a keen interest in continuous learning and process improvements.
Nice to Have:
* Experience with BAS preparation and balance sheet reconciliations, along with familiarity with SAP and SAP BI, would be an advantage.
