About the role
Are you a skilled technician with a knack for mechanical maintenance and problem-solving? Orica Digital Solutions is looking for a dedicated and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our Welshpool team. This is a full-time, permanent position with a Monday to Friday work schedule.
As a key member of the Orica Digital Solutions Maintenance team, the Maintenance Technician will support Maintenance Technicians and perform essential workshop and yard duties. Your role will be crucial in maintaining and optimizing Orica’s assets to ensure they remain operational and effective. The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs site mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines.
What you will be doing
1. Equipment Maintenance: Routine maintenance activities including inspections, repairs, and servicing of equipment and facilities.
2. Safety : Assist employees with any needs associated with production and safety.
3. Materials Handling: Assist in procuring, storing, and managing materials and components required for workshop activities.
4. Logistics Management: Assist the sales and administration staff in the logistics management of incoming and outgoing equipment.
5. Tool Management: Keep track of tools and equipment, ensuring they are stored correctly and accessible when needed.
6. Adaptability: Be willing to take on various tasks as needed and adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
7. Problem-Solving: Apply problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and find solutions to technical issues.
What you will bring
8. Previous experience as a Workshop Assistant, Yardperson or in a similar role.
9. Certifications like the Mechanical Technician certification or similar is preferable but not essential.
10. A forklift license and experience are required, mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate various equipment to facilitate yard organization well regarded.
11. Effective organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
12. Able to work closely with others in a team environment, as well as autonomously when required.
13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, suppliers, and customers.
14. Proficiency in computer systems and software applications related to workshop management.
15. Hold a Manual Driver’s license.
