THE ROLE
In Vitro Technologies, a leading scientific and medical distribution organization, is looking for a full-time Planning Officer contracted for 12 months, covering a maternity leave to join our team in Noble Park.
This role is essential to managing and coordinating the supply chain for a portfolio of products across Australia and New Zealand.
The Planning Officer will oversee product categorization, maintain inventory levels, handle demand planning, liaise with vendors, track inbound shipments, and support the Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) process. Additional responsibilities include oversight of international shipments and providing internal customer support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Planning Manager Australia, your primary duties will include:
* Responding to internal customer inquiries on inbound shipments
* Liaising with vendors regarding outstanding purchase orders
* Creating purchase orders and monitoring inbound shipments (air and sea) to ensure timely delivery
* Coordinating with customs brokers for tariff classification and import documentation
* Managing export shipments to confirm delivery completion
* Conducting demand planning for forecasted products
* Producing daily and weekly team statistics reports
* Supporting the SOP meetings with inventory requirement reports for forecast and non-forecast vendors
* Generating stock transfers to meet minimum stock levels across branches and 3PL warehouses on a fortnightly basis
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience in planning or logistics within a distribution setting
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and preferably Microsoft Dynamics D365 ERP
* Strong general administrative skills with excellent written and verbal communication
* Prior experience in a distribution operation would be highly regarded
* The ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Strong organisational skills
* A proactive attitude and the ability to take ownership to achieve outcomes
