Salary per hour (exc. Super): $158.85 - $206.22 per hour
Hours per fortnight: Hours flexible. Between 14 up to 35 hours per fortnight / 0.2 to 0.5 FTE
Employment Status: Fixed Term / Part Time (fractional appointment)

Role Description
Bendigo Health are seeking a fixed term Fractional Specialist Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to join our Geriatric Medicine Team from August 2023 for five (5) months. The Physician will have full clinical responsibility for his/her patients and is the clinical team leader who will support and guide health professional staff in respect to the treatment of patients under their care. This position may involve the provision of inpatient care, telehealth Geriatrician services to Geri-Connect patients, GEM at Home and in-person outpatient consultations, as well as supporting any COVID-related work in Bendigo Health Residential Care Facilities.
The Geriatric Medicine Team
The new Bendigo Hospital opened in January 2017, with all inpatient Medical units (acute and subacute) co-located across three levels of the same building. The Geriatric Medicine service manages acute beds, subacute GEM and rehabilitation beds, an Orthogeriatric co-care service and ambulatory clinics (CDAMS, Falls and Balance, Continence, Pain and Chronic Neurology, CGA).
In early 2017, the Geri-Connect telehealth service commenced across the Loddon Mallee (LM) region. This service provides support to the region through a specialist Geriatric Medicine outreach service supported by telehealth assessments using video conferencing.
The Geri-Connect Service provides consultations, alongside regional GP’s, for those in hospital, living at home or in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF). This service is designed to enhance, support and simplify clinical care through a combination of face to face and telehealth specialist consultations. The service offers:
• Comprehensive geriatric assessment
• Timely review for complex cases
• Case conferencing
• Annual and medication review
