About the opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinic Administrator to support the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre’s ISLAND (Island Study Linking Ageing and Neurodegenerative Disease) Clinic.
The ISLAND Clinic is a multidisciplinary service for the diagnosis of cognitive impairment and has a critical role in research as well as providing clinical trials in Tasmania.
As our new Clinic Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients with memory-related conditions and their families whilst maintaining strict confidentiality.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating clinic logistics such as appointments, inquiries, records management, information systems, contracts, Medicare billing, and inventory reconciliation, as well as collaborating regularly with clinic personnel and volunteers.
This is a parental leave backfill position available to current university staff members.
What you’ll do:
Provide support to the ISLAND Clinic Manager and clinic personnel on a range of administrative activities.
Liaise with clinic personnel and external providers to prepare correspondence, reports and notes of meetings including care plans and clinicians’ letters.
Organise and maintain a clinic database/registry of patient and participant information.
Liaise with primary carers, hospitals and relevant service providers regarding access to clinical information related to the care of clients referred to the clinic.
Undertake basic patient observations including blood pressure and height and weight.
What we’re looking for:
Completion of a Degree or Diploma with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
Highly developed oral, written and inter-personal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision and as part of a team including well developed problem solving and decision-making skills.
Experience in a busy client focussed environment with vulnerable clientele.
High level computer skills with project management packages and clinical software.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $88,479 comprising base salary within the range of $71,387 to $75,623 plus 17% superannuation (pro rata).
