Job Summary/Basic Function
The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
* Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position. Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
* Work-study requires that you are enrolled for a minimum of six credits that applies towards the semester you are employed.
* You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
Work Hours: Average 10-15 hours per week, dependent upon your work study award.

Job Duties
* Assist teacher with general classroom duties.
* Help provide a safe, clean, and enriched environment for children.
* Greet and interact with the children and parents.
* Read to the children.
* Support and assist children with child-directed activities.
* Encourage language/literacy skills for the children/parents.
* Ask open-ended questions when working with the children.
* Promote choices and decision-making when working with children.
* Encourage and support children with cultural activities.
* Accompany children/teacher at scheduled events.
* Assist teacher with class preparation/development of teaching tools.
* Model developmentally appropriate practices when working with parents.
* Housecleaning activities prior/after class projects.
* Support children with classroom projects.
* Prepare communications for parents.
