Senior Objectstar Development Expert
A critical ICT contract with our Federal Government client, Services Australia.
* Lead software planning, development, integration, testing, deployment, and support of Objectstar-based solutions within a high-security government environment.
* This is a hybrid role requiring full-time presence in the designated state capital (Canberra preferred) for the first six weeks, with a standard requirement of on-site work three days per week thereafter.
Key Job Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development, support, and transformation of Objectstar applications
2. Design and implement highly complex development solutions and technical architectures
3. Drive Objectstar data migration and application code transformation initiatives
4. Manage release planning, go-live support, and ongoing production maintenance
5. Ensure all software complies with best-practice standards, cyber security policies, and Services Australia SDLC procedures
6. Contribute to system design, integration strategies, and software configuration governance
7. Collaborate across a multidisciplinary Agile team (Architects, Product Owners, Testers, Analysts)
8. Mentor team members and contribute to strategic workforce and technical capability planning
Core Technical Skills Required:
* Objectstar, COBOL, JCL – extensive development and production support
* Software design, development, configuration, deployment & testing (SFIA Level 4–5)
* Release & deployment planning (SFIA Level 5)
* System integration and automation (SFIA Level 5)
* Stakeholder engagement and specialist advisory (SFIA Level 4–5)
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience in large-scale government software environments
* Expertise across the entire software development lifecycle, including secure coding and CI/CD
* Strong understanding of emerging technologies and the ability to build technology roadmaps
* Excellent stakeholder communication, strategic planning, and leadership capabilities
* Ability to work autonomously under broad direction and lead teams through change
* Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
* Must hold or be eligible to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance (We can help you obtain your baseline, NV1 or NV2 clearance)
