Geologist, Process Manager Your new company Our client is a power company which owns 2 Coal Mine sites in Queensland who are government-owned. Your new role Lead the design, development, and governance of the coal quality-management system, ensuring it aligns with operational goals and maximises coal recovery and quality Develop and implement coal reconciliation/recovery processes, including methodologies and reporting systems to optimize resource recovery and minimize coal loss and dilution. Advise, support, and influence Mine Planners, CHPP, and Power Plant personnel to develop and embed operating practices that ensure in-spec coal quality delivery and maximize overall business value. Oversee contract governance and performance monitoring, ensuring compliance with the Mining Service Agreement (MSA). Coordinate reconciliation reports covering Mine Production, Equipment Metrics, CHPP Production, and Coal Qualities, and lead weekly and mid-month production meetings for ongoing performance evaluation. Manage material sampling programs across the coal chain, including in-pit, on stockpile, and CHPP stages. What you'll need to succeed Minimum of 7 years experience in coal mining and coal recovery roles Proficiency and deep technical knowledge in coal processing, mining, washability, and reconciliation processes. Proficiency and knowledge in coal quality management from pit to customer. 3-D geological and spatial data modelling skills (desired), e.g., Vulcan Strong influencing and communication skills, good interpersonal skills and ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. Computer skills in numerous software applications, including the Microsoft suite of products and mine design and planning software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. What you'll get in return In return, our client can offer a permanent role working a 40-hour week. The salary on offer is $195k PA, this rate will be reviewed inline with the EA.
