About the Opportunity
If you're passionate about creating delicious dishes made from high-quality produce and eager to build your culinary career, we want to hear from you. We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Commis Chef to support our talented team of chefs in the main production kitchen and deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
This could be the perfect role for you?
As a Commis Chef, you'll be responsible for assisting with the effective daily kitchen operation, while developing your cookery skills and creativity.
Your key responsibilities include:
1. Producing a consistent high-quality product and standard.
2. Maintaining equipment, utensils, and a clean hygienic kitchen.
3. Rotating stock and minimising wastage.
4. FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS FROM SENIOR CHEFS AND WORKING AS A TEAM PLAYER.
5. FOLLOWING WHS, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
What you'll need to be successful
1. Full availability and flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
2. Completed a Certificate 3 in Cookery qualification is essential.
3. Developed knife skills and cookery techniques.
4. Genuine passion for food and cooking, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
5. Thriving in a large, busy, and fast-paced professional kitchen environment, with efficiency, organisation, and attention to detail.
6. Strong communication skills, able to follow direction, and work well in a team environment.
7. Excellent personal presentation.
