With Mercy, you'll have the chance to make an impact and gain experience that's hard to find elsewhere.At Mercy Health, it's all about taking what we have and making it better.To do that, we need you.Join us at Mercy Health, and help our teams deliver even greater outcomes.About the opportunity Provide emotional, spiritual, and psychological support to residents, helping them cope with challenges of aging, loss, and health changes.Act as a compassionate listener for residents, offering counseling and comfort during times of distress, loneliness, or grief.Organize and lead religious services, prayers, or rituals tailored to the spiritual needs of residents, respecting their diverse beliefs.Support residents and their families during end-of-life care, offering comfort, counseling, and spiritual care at this difficult time.Work alongside other health care staff (nurses, doctors, social workers) to provide holistic care to residents.Facilitate access to sacraments such as Holy Communion, Reconciliation, and Anointing of the Sick, ensuring residents can practice their faith regularly.What you'll bringYou're resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.To thrive in this role, you will have: A degree in theology, pastoral care, or a related field.Training in pastoral care, counseling, or spiritual guidance is important to offer effective emotional and spiritual support to residents.Sensitivity to the diverse cultural backgrounds and spiritual beliefs of residents to ensure inclusive care.You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: NDIS clearance.Valid work rights.Ready to help us shape the future of healthcare?
