* Implementing an automated purchase order system
* Working with IT to automate processes such as invoicing, payments etc.
* Leading other key financial, operational and reporting enhancements from concept to completion
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to own the finance function while also contributing to the broader success of the business.
Key Responsibilities

* Payroll & Compliance – Process payroll, manage superannuation, and ensure compliance with BAS, payroll tax, FBT, ATO, and ASIC requirements.
* Cash Flow & Business Performance – Oversee cash flow, working capital, and financial reporting, providing strategic analysis and recommendations.
* Accounts Payable & Receivable – Supervise and, when necessary, perform invoicing, collections, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable approvals and entries.
* Stock & Cost Management – Manage inventory controls and support cost management and financial planning.
* Business & Stakeholder Support – Maintain relationships with banks, auditors, insurers, environmental consultants to enhance financial processes and emission reporting, and support sales teams with financial insights.
* Process Improvement & Compliance – Implement best-practice financial controls, risk management, and efficiency improvements.
About You
We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on finance professional who thrives in an SME environment and enjoys taking full ownership of the finance function.

* Xero Experience – Proficiency in Xero is essential, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and process automation.
* Technical & Analytical Skills – Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, strong numerical and analytical ability, and experience in financial reporting.
* Work Ethic & Approach – Highly organised, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset and a focus on continuous improvement.
* Team & Leadership Qualities – A team player who can work independently and take full ownership of the finance function.
* Other Requirements – NSW Police employment check and valid right to work in Australia.
