Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for the food retail industry? Do you thrive in challenging environments and possess the expertise to drive performance in meat and meal production? If so, join our Client as the Team Leader of our Meat, Seafood, and Poultry Department, and play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding retail service and product excellence.
Job Summary:
As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising staff and orchestrating the operations of the Meat, Seafood, and Poultry Department. Your focus will be on enhancing customer satisfaction through innovative service strategies, managing the entire process from procurement to service, and ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety standards. You will be instrumental in maximising sales through effective product selection, presentation, and marketing.
Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Develop a collaborative service model strategy utilising insights from various business units. Foster a culture of innovation and growth within the team.
* Operational Excellence: Manage commercial targets and department performance, ensuring strategic and operational goals are met. Lead the departments in product management, pricing strategies, and inventory control.
* Customer Engagement: Drive customer-focused initiatives, be present on the floor to gather insights and innovate, ensuring continuous excitement and opportunities for sales.
* Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, aligning financial goals with departmental targets.
* Team Development: Promote a positive work environment, lead by example, engage in performance reviews, and support the career development of future leaders.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Experience in meat processing and retail, with qualifications in Butchery highly regarded.
* Proven track record in service management within the retail industry.
* Exceptional leadership skills, capable of managing diverse and sometimes challenging team dynamics.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with a knack for strategic planning and problem-solving.
* Available to work across a 7-day roster, including a minimum of one weekend per month.
* Commitment to community values and principles, with an emphasis on fostering local community relationships.
