Portable Long Service Leave is establishing a new state-based entity to work with both employers and employees, to administer portable long service leave entitlements for the South Australian community services industry. Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing our financial operations within this newly created organisation, ensuring the integrity of our financial processes, and contributing to strategic decision-making. This role is responsible for managing the Finance Officer, to ensure the delivery of high-quality financial outcomes are achieved (including all audit requirements) whilst ensuring all legislative requirements are met. The Opportunity Role commencing January 2025High impact role shaping the Company's financial strategyHands on leadership role, within a small supportive teamCentral city fringe location with onsite parkingExcellent professional development opportunities to support your career Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily financial operations, including the coordination of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to the Board.Reporting to the CEO and Management and identifying any financial issues, anomalies and risks.Initiate and update the development and review of financial management policies, process maps and work instructions.Manage, train and mentor the Finance Officer to support their development and delivery of high quality financial services, whilst ensuring appropriate service levels and legislative requirements are met Coordinate the financial workflow processes to achieve high performance including setting goals and service levels, allocating work, preparing and implementing actions plans to address backlogs and ensuring service levels are being met (by re-allocating work as needed).Develop strong relationships with third party providers supporting the finance function, including Auditors, actuaries and financial consultants. Role Requirements: CPA or CA qualified.Demonstrated (minimum of 5 years') experience in finance roles with a complete understanding of all financial transactions that are required to comply with all legislation and standards. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary accounting concepts, standards and structures, including an ability to translate complex financial data for diverse stakeholders.Well-developed experience in a medium sized organisation undertaking and coordinating the processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions, end of month processing and financial report preparation.Demonstrated experience in leading employees to perform and deliver outcomes, including contributing to the leadership of a high performing workplace culture.Experience with accounting software (ie XERO) as well as record management systems and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).Strong leadership and communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders.National Police Clearance How to Apply:Applications to be sent directly through Seek.
