In this unique model of care, you will use your personal lived experience of suicidal crisis or caring for someone experiencing suicidal crisis to provide appropriate, responsive care in a warm, welcoming, non-medical environment, working with other professionals, supporting and linking guests with appropriate services. Using your own lived experience to lead the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of the Alternatives to ED initiative ensuring a trauma-informed, recovery-focused model of care. Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to peer colleagues within the team and across mental health services in the LHD to promote best practice and provide quality service delivery, including management of the performance of staff and resources in the achievement of the LHD's Strategic and relevant operational plans. The Senior Peer Worker – Suicide Prevention Alternatives to Emergency Department will provide support to consumers experiencing mental health issues, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The Senior Peer Worker will have a strong connection to consumers through their own experience of mental illness.
