Diversional Therapist – Ulladulla NSW Kogan People Solutions are working with a respected NDIS provider which prides itself on engaging with compassionate skilled people who are competent in all areas of disabilities and aged care, based in Ulladulla, NSW. Our client’s dedicated and experienced staff meet all mandatory competencies essential to working within disability and aged care environments, as well as in-home care settings. Services are tailored to enhance each individual's well-being, independence, and social inclusion, while respecting personal, cultural, and religious preferences. This well-regarded health provider now seeks a Diversional Therapist to join their friendly team. The role is full time and ongoing. Location (base) - Ulladulla NSW. Regular and interstate travel (including Victoria) to client sites will be required. Salary - A highly competitive salary in the range $70k to $90k plus superannuation per annum will be offered to the successful applicant. Responsibilities of this challenging and rewarding position: Assess the needs, preferences, and goals of clients, and develop individualised or group-based leisure and recreation programs accordingly. Plan and implement a range of activities, such as outings, games, arts and crafts, music, gardening, and sports, which are safe, fun, and engaging for clients. Monitor and evaluate the outcomes and benefits of the programs and make adjustments as needed. Document and report on the progress and feedback of clients and communicate with other staff members and stakeholders. Provide support, guidance, and encouragement to clients and help them overcome any barriers to participation. Train and supervise volunteers and assistants who are involved in the programs. Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for clients and adhere to relevant policies and procedures. Compliance and Safety - Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations and follow safety protocols. Follow all safe work practices, wear necessary PPE, participate in all safety inductions, carefully follow equipment supplier instructions. Documentation and Reporting - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of support provided and behavioural observations. Report any concerns or incidents to the management team; and Keep up to date with current trends and best practices in diversional therapy and participate in professional development opportunities. To be successfully considered, candidates will be expected to possess the following qualifications and skills: Highly relevant Diploma or agreed substitute. At least three, preferably more, years of post-training experience. Proven knowledge of the principles and practices of diversional therapy and the benefits of leisure and recreation for wellbeing. A current National Police Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check, and driver’s license. Membership of appropriate professional bodies, or eligibility to apply. Experience in working with diverse client groups, such as older adults, people with disabilities, mental health issues, or chronic conditions. Creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm in planning and delivering a variety of activities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage time and resources effectively. Empathy, respect, and sensitivity towards the needs and rights of clients.
