The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.
The Specialist Palliative Care Service - Community Team has two consult services, one based in the community and one in the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The community team is located in the Activities Centre at the Repatriation Hospital campus. The hospital team is based at 25 Argyle Street, near the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The community team includes specialist doctors and nurses, a social worker, an occupational therapist, and has access to a pharmacist, a music therapist, and pastoral care support when needed. The interdisciplinary team also includes trained Hospice volunteers. The palliative care team works together with the person and their family, GP, medical specialist, and community health nurse to provide advice and plan care. The team aims to enable the person to be cared for in their preferred place of residence.
You will need:
* Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and experience in Specialist Palliative Care.
* Demonstrate capability to be focused on understanding the business of the organisation, the business unit, and the practice area, and delivering the best care outcomes within the available resources.
* Demonstrate capability to establish and maintain relationships and useful partnerships with people at all levels and disciplines across the business unit and group.
Details of appointment:
Permanent full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $122,365 to $129,060 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

* Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Desirable Criteria:
