About Us
Hysata is on a mission to accelerate the shift from fossil fuels to green hydrogen, with a disruptive approach to electrolysis.
The Hysata founding team comprises electrolyser industry veterans and the company is backed by leading cleantech investors. Our breakthrough technology has been recognised in top-tier journal Nature Communications and has created a buzz in the green hydrogen sector due to its promise to revolutionise the economics of green hydrogen production. This is possible due to Hysata's unique combination of low capex and an ultrahigh system efficiency of 95% – a gigantic leap vs existing electrolysers which are at around 75%.
On the pathway to net-zero, green hydrogen is going to be a massive new multi-trillion-dollar global industry, of similar scale to today's natural gas industry. With its world-beating technology and strong customer pull, Hysata is targeting becoming the leading global electrolyser player, with multi-gigawatt-scale manufacturing and putting a major dent in global emissions.
About The Role
We are seeking a System Modelling Engineer to perform system level modelling of our electrolyser systems in close collaboration with colleagues from various engineering disciplines as well as product and commercial teams. The candidate will support our product development process through the different design, prototyping and manufacturing phases. You'll be joining a team of smart, driven, collaborative and highly dedicated individuals who love solving engineering challenges and who are excited to be fighting the climate crisis. You will be part of the Systems Engineering team and work closely with other technical specialists to ensure that the Hysata modelling framework is developed further.
What You'll Be Doing System level modelling: Continue to develop the Hysata modelling framework to ensure continuous improvement of our thermal, process and electrochemical models. Additionally, utilise modelling to provide design and controls strategy guidance; Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering disciplines (such as R&D, Mechanical, Test and Process Engineering) to facilitate a holistic approach to system modeling in Hysata; Test and Validation: Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders to design, implement and interpret tests to validate system models and electrolyser performance; Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document system requirements, ensuring they align with product specifications; Commissioning: Assist during commissioning of various prototype systems to validate models and control strategies. What You'll Bring A technical background; Experience in a holistic approach to system modeling combining input from a number of different simulation and modeling tools; Hysata electrolysers operate on renewable energy so experience with modelling both steady state and dynamic operation regimes is a clear advantage; Experience building models using various tools e.g. Python, Simulink, Aspen Plus and/or Hysys etc.; Experience with electrolysis or similar type of electrochemical equipment is a plus; You are curious about how the models match reality and have experience designing test and validation methods to verify model predictions; You thrive in a high pace dynamic environment where the time from idea to test is short; English oral and written communication skills at a sufficient level. What We Offer
Perks Include (but are not limited to):
Idyllic Beachside Location; Stock options; Salary Sacrifice into Superannuation; Flexible working conditions; Recognition of Service; Wellness Allowance; EAP through Sonder; Novated Leasing; Employee Discount Program through Flare; Awesome work environment and team!
