We support people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and cognitive decline, disabilities, post-operative care needs and older Australians. About the role
We currently have casual positions available for reliable and passionate Home Care Professionals to join our team. You will need to be friendly, positive and demonstrate client-focused behaviour, showing empathy and treating others with dignity and respect. You’ll also need to have a natural ability to build relationships that make a difference, be honest, helpful and dependable, making you a great asset to our team.
Responsibilities will include:
* Variety of shifts available including weekends and active overnights
* Working within a person-centred, enabling environment that respects the rights and needs of each client
* Assisting clients with personal hygiene, dressing and domestic duties
* Assisting clients with daily errands, companionship and support
* Providing support with academic, social or recreational activities
* Preparing food, feeding clients and assisting medications
* Observe, care and report any changes in the health and wellbeing of the client
* Responding to emergency situations
Essential Criteria:
* No Experience or Career Change
* Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent (Desirable but not essential)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Willingness to learn, develop and take on new challenges
* Current National Police Check
* Current First Aid & CPR certificates
* Current unrestricted driver’s licence
* Comprehensive insurance (desirable)
* Double COVID Vaccination as per Queensland Government requirement

Preferred Skills
Position 1: Companion Care (Non-qualified or no experience)
* Homemaker Services: Cooking, Meal preparation and clean-up, monitor diet and nutrition, pet care and pet monitoring, prepare grocery list.
* Light Housekeeping Services: Mop, sweep and vacuum floors, clean kitchen counters and appliances, clean bathrooms, dust, organise and tidy up rooms, make the beds and change linen, laundry, take out garbage
* Home Activities: Help with letters and reading the mail, reading, rent and watch movies, companionship, and friendly conversation, play cards or board games
* Transportation- to and from doctors’ appointment/social events, errands-mail letters, bills or packages, grocery shopping, outing to the theatre, film performances, art galleries, the RSL, coffee shop, visits with friends, take walks, visit the park.
Position 2: Personal Care Worker (Cert 3 in Individual Support- Aged Care and Disability).
* Bathing, Hygiene, grooming and dressing, continence care/toileting
* Help with mobility, reduce the risk of slips and falls, help with exercise
* Assistance with eating, medication assistance
* Also including Homemaker Services, Light Housekeeping Services, Home Activities, Transportation and Outdoor Activities. (See above)
