You will be responsible for providing active support with activities of daily living and developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Plans’ including personal care. Our group home is situated in the Inner Melbourne suburb of Elwood. We are looking for a hard working, focussed and team orientated person to provide active support to the residents. You must be someone who is pro-active not reactive. We require you to be able to think on your feet during shifts. Our residents have a range of support needs. Experience supporting clients with behaviours of concern & experience with non-verbal communication styles is beneficial. The available roles have the following roster requirements: Roster splits: 38:30/33:00 – This roster is a mix of morning & afternoon shifts – Including 1 Sleep over shift per month. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the day-to-day running of the house Develop planned activities in line with policies and guidelines Liaise with family members, medical services, departmental services, and external services to help meet client needs Administer medication treatments and therapies according to prescribed protocols or otherwise, seek appropriate medical assistance Implement development programs and identify and support learning opportunities Qualifications & Experience: Certificate 4 in Disability A current First Aid Certificate A current unrestricted Driver Licence A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disabilities A hands-on leader and team player with positive behaviour support experience and leadership capabilities able to actively promote and provide best practice support to clients whilst supervising and mentoring other team members The ability to develop a positive relationship with service users and to support their Individual Personal Plan Ability to apply behaviour management strategies in a complex and challenging environment Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential Demonstrated compliance with NDIS requirements for Disability Support Workers Benefits: Work for one of Australia’s largest social purpose organisations Pay rates starting from $28.18 per hour penalty rates – varies depending on qualification and experience.
