About this Opportunity
In collaboration with the Philanthropy and Engagement team, as the Event Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and developing RFDS SA/NT internal and external event opportunities and activities in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, as the Events Specialist, you will create, develop, execute, and deliver events that provide profit, awareness and build relationships for RFDS SA/NT both internally and externally.
This integral role specifically involves:
* Developing business cases and project plans for events including the date, theme, volunteers/staff required, locations, and event logistics.
* Identifying and securing donation of prizes and goods from organisations to generate fundraising revenue through raffles and live/silent auctions at RFDS SA/NT major events such as the Wings for Life Ball.
* Incorporating and developing new fundraising initiatives to enhance the current portfolio of events.
* Collaborating with RFDS SA/NT team members, venue, infrastructure, and other third-party providers to effectively plan and deliver successful RFDS SA/NT events.
* Staying current, and often ahead of the curve, on event planning, design, and production trends, proactively identifying and solving operational challenges.

About You
You are:
* Experienced at delivering events and achieving fundraising targets.
* Professionally presented with a strong business networking capability.
* Committed to working effectively and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse range of people within the community.
* Able to deliver professional, effective presentations to corporate and community audiences.
* Proficient with the Event Management System and Event registration tool used to manage registration and event logistics.
* Experienced at using online fundraising platforms.
To be considered for the role you require:
* Tertiary qualifications and/or minimum 3 years’ experience in marketing, fundraising or public relations.
* 5 years of proven event management experience.
* Current and valid drivers licence issued from an Australian State or Territory.
* Demonstrated partnership/relationship management skills.
