To support our growth, team and culture, we are seeking an experienced Senior HR Manager to shape and lead our people strategy, policies and procedures. As the Senior HR Manager, you will play a key role in this transformation process and lead on building, maintaining and nurturing a high-performance team and positive culture. About AVS Agriculture Victoria Services Pty Ltd (AVS) has a long history of commercialising research and innovations generated by the Agriculture Victoria Research branch of the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. Established by the Victorian Government in 1986, AVS helps drive the translation of research into products and services that support the continued success, productivity and sustainability of Victoria's agricultural sector. About the Role Reporting to the CEO and supporting across the AVS Executive Leadership Team, the Senior HR Manager plays a key role in managing AVS' end-to-end human resources (HR) function, including talent acquisition, HR policy and advice, and employee engagement and cultural initiatives. On any given day, you will: Facilitate and help foster a positive and high-performance team culture at AVS, including the development of a People and Culture Strategy, embedding an open feedback culture and developing high performing teams. Manage the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies and procedures that contribute to the achievement of AVS' Corporate Plan. Lead all facets of HR operations, including talent acquisition, performance management, professional development, flexible working practices and OHS. Lead and guide AVS' organisational profile and recruitment processes that align with AVS' policies, values and growth ambitions and maintain our position as an employer of choice. Support with and upskill AVS' Managers on current and emerging HR/ER issues and AVS' OHS and HR policy framework. Interpret and advise on relevant Awards and Employment Agreements, including AVS' Terms and Conditions of Employment. Foster a culture of openness and continuous improvement, guiding managers with expert advice and tools. Work with the AVS-elected Health and Safety Representative to develop and implement AVS' OHS Management System and Wellbeing Program. Partner with the CEO to ensure organisational structure alignment with AVS' Corporate Plan, and support with all internal HR processes and requirements for AV management team and the Board. About You As a Senior HR professional at AVS, no two days are the same. You'll be supporting multiple stakeholders and priorities whilst ensuring that AVS policies, Values and Behaviours and growth strategy is supported. You will also bring: A relevant tertiary qualification in Workplace Relations and/or Human Resources. Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing strategies, policies and procedures to develop, nurture and manage high-performing teams. Proven experience working within the public sector, with a solid understanding of relevant policies, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and organisational alignment. Expertise in leading and implementing change management initiatives, including driving organisational transformation, stakeholder engagement, and change adoption strategies. Prior experience in and the ability to develop, measure and report on human resources metrics, objectives, and targets to provide and drive actionable insights that inform business strategy. Strong initiative, a proactive 'can-do' attitude, and a commitment to fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. A continuous improvement approach across all initiatives with the ability to provide effective solutions to complex human resources challenges. Strong ability to resolve complex workplace relations matters and address challenging HR issues with a focus on compliance, fairness, and the well-being of employees. Why Join Us?
