Job Description The Operations Manager will be responsible for assisting to plan, direct and manage daily cargo operations while liaising with all key stakeholders including Customers and Management, Sales, Operations, and Logistics teams to ensure customer requirements and business objectives are being met consistently.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Including but not limited to:Assisting the Terminal Manager with the overall operation of the terminal, inclusive of ship discharge and load activities, and the effective turnaround of trucks throughout the terminal;Engaging with customers to plan, forecast, and execute timely receival, shipment, and delivery of cargo;Ensuring daily reporting on cargo bookings, volumes, flow, and other KPI's required by management is provided within required timelines;Addressing operational challenges or emergencies (such as delays or equipment malfunctions) in a timely and efficient manner to minimise disruption to terminal activities;Supporting the Terminal Manager, Operations Manager, and Supervisors with workforce management, continuous improvement, safety, and any other initiatives to ensure best practice is achieved;Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and working to maintain a safe environment for all personnel. Desired Skills and Experience Knowledge/Experience:Computer literacy at a high standard - spreadsheets, databases, and applications.Apply sound human resources skills in line with company policy, procedures, and relevant industrial instruments.Experience in cargo, maritime, logistics, or supply chain operations preferred.Certification in operations, logistics, or supply chain management preferred.Essential Attributes and Skills:High level of customer service skills.Team management.Hazard identification in a high-risk work environment.Comprehension of legislative requirements.Leadership.Problem solving.Public speaking and workforce engagement.
