Intergovernmental Relations is seeking to appoint a diligent and enthusiastic Manager - Special Projects to join the team.

The Role
The Manager - Special Projects will lead and manage the Department of Education’s involvement in a range of national projects and activities stemming from the Better and Fairer Schools Agreement and other national agreement negotiations.
You will coordinate the development of State positions in relation to a variety of current and emerging national education reviews, reforms, policies and initiatives, carefully analysing and considering their implications for Western Australia and providing high quality strategic advice and recommendations to Executive.
You will lead, facilitate and provide representation on internal and external working parties and committees, and be a strong advocate for Western Australia on national issues. The role will require you to consult, collaborate and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders including other government agencies, and research and prepare responses to correspondence, briefings and reports on various matters for Ministers, the Director General and others as required.
The Intergovernmental Relations Directorate is responsible for coordinating and providing timely, high quality strategic policy advice on Commonwealth-State education matters.
