Our Client has an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Train Examiner to join their Team in Parkes, NSW. You will be responsible for the inspection of railway vehicles to ensure Safety and Compliance with regulations.
The role will provide regular hours (4) x 8 Hours shifts per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday). Penalty Rates apply for afternoon/nightshift and weekend hours.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include:
1. Visual Inspections - Thoroughly checking the Train's components for any damage, wear and tear, loose parts or malfunction systems.
2. Safety Checks - Ensuring all safety devices are functioning properly, including brakes, couplings and signaling equipment.
3. Documentation - Recording findings from inspections and reporting any issues to relevant personnel.
4. Classification Checks - Verifying that the train is correctly classified based on its components and intended route.
5. Communication - Liaising with Train Drivers and other railway staff to ensure smooth operations and address any concerns.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
1. FX 1 qualification required.
2. Full Train Examination (TLIB3018).
3. Availability for work schedules involving shift work and reasonable overtime as required.
4. Extensive trade and industry experience relevant to the qualifications.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels and work collaboratively in delivering high levels of customer service.
6. Understanding and adherence to Rail Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices.
7. Railway Track access/rail awareness certificate.
8. Valid Australian driver’s license.
9. Successful completion of pre-employment checks, including Category 1 Rail Medical, Musculoskeletal Assessment, and ongoing Drug and Alcohol testing.
