Emergency Medicine Registrar
An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a highly proficient department as Emergency Medicine Registrar in a primary referral hospital for the region. This position will serve as a Medical Practitioner, translating to encounters with high-acuity cases and a diverse range of clinical experiences.
The hospital prioritises the professional development of its Registrars by allocating 4 hours of paid protected teaching time every week. These sessions are thoughtfully designed to cater to all stages of emergency registrar training, including monthly specialised paediatric teaching sessions and opportunities to engage in training within our state-of-the-art simulation centre.
The site boasts a comprehensive array of major specialties, including a fully equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with the capability for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support. Consultants are actively involved in providing direct clinical supervision to the department, offering their expertise from 8:00 am until midnight, seven days a week.
This 300-bed Tertiary Teaching Facility is renowned for its acute care capabilities, catering to over 24,000 inpatients and more than 225,000 outpatients each year. The bustling Emergency Department accommodates an annual influx of over 45,000 patients and maintains an admission rate of 35%.
Eligibility:
* General, Provisional or limited registration with AHPRA
* IMG's that have completed at least the AMC MCQ (part 1) or completed both AMC 1 & 2 (clinical exam)
* IMG's eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)
* IMG's assessed by ACEM College as partially or substantially comparable (doctors currently interviewing with ACEM may express their interest)
* IMG's interested in foreign training via the Short Term Training specialist pathway (STT)
* Have 5+ years of international experience working as an Emergency Medicine Registrar
