Senior Manager - Risk, Compliance and Financial Services
Are you an experienced risk professional looking for a new challenge? Our client, a highly respected Australian asset management firm, is seeking a skilled Risk Manager to enhance and implement their risk management framework, ensuring resilience and compliance across their diverse investment platforms.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with an excellent Head of Compliance and Risk, in a dynamic and collaborative team. You will play a key role in shaping the organisation’s risk strategy, helping to elevate risk management and reporting processes to the next level.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the enhancement and execution of the enterprise risk management framework.
* Embed a proactive risk culture across the organisation by providing expert guidance and support to various business units.
* Support risk owners and the first line of defence in reviewing and documenting risk profiles and internal controls.
* Develop and maintain a controls assessment and testing framework, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Establish and monitor key risk indicators, reporting on trends and recommending remedial actions where necessary.
* Prepare in-depth risk analysis reports for senior leadership and facilitate quarterly risk reviews.
* Strengthen the internal risk control environment by driving process enhancements and conducting root cause analyses of issues and incidents.
* Manage the annual Business Impact Assessments, ensuring operational resilience and effective business continuity planning.
About You
We are looking for an accomplished Risk professional with:
* 5–7 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Assurance, or Internal Audit, preferably in enterprise and operational positions.
* Strong expertise in risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and internal control frameworks.
* Industry experience in asset/fund management or a similar sector (preferred but not essential).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
* A proactive, strategic mindset with problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
* The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines effectively.
