About the role Red Cross has been successful in receiving additional funding to expand our homelessness programs in Townsville, allowing us to further grow our teams that provide support to people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness. The Immediate Housing Response for Families (IHRF) program responds to the unprecedented challenges in housing affordability and the private rental market. IHRF is for Queensland families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, who are living in unsuitable accommodation including sleeping in their cars and in tents. The purpose of the program is to deliver an immediate accommodation response to assist families in temporary and short-term accommodation, to transition to longer-term housing. This position is both office and community based.
