Reporting to the Head of Development, the main purpose of the role is to lead the end-to-end development of renewable energy projects (predominately wind projects) from the planning stage through to financial close and construction phase.
Responsibilities Manage planning and environmental approvals for greenfield projects including environmental impact statements, environment protection and biodiversity conservation (EPBC) applications for project development. Coordinate development activities across engineering, design, grid, pre-construction and financing of allocated projects. Provide support to the Delivery and Finance Teams in the construction and financing of projects. Support the GM Development to draft board report updates. Engage with landholders, stakeholders, planning authorities, project owners, Traditional Owners and the wider local community. Prepare stakeholder engagement materials, coordinate and chair community events, as required. Assist in the due diligence and management of Joint Development Agreements. Manage external consultants to ensure delivery of quality reports and studies on time and within budget. Establish and manage project management processes and procedures including: project management plans, cost control, schedule, risk registers, site policies and procedures, project programs and schedules, documentation control, and quality control. Mentor junior members of the Development Team. Ensure that the delivery of development activities complies with all commercial, legal, health, safety and environmental requirements. Contribute to fostering industry relationships, staying informed on emerging issues and competitor projects and business strategy, industry and company advocacy. Qualifications Relevant experience in managing planning and environmental approvals for greenfield projects. Experience in coordinating development activities across various sectors. Strong support skills for construction and financing teams. Ability to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders. Experience in preparing stakeholder engagement materials and coordinating community events. Knowledge of Joint Development Agreements. Experience in managing external consultants. Strong project management skills. Experience in mentoring junior team members. Knowledge of compliance with commercial, legal, health, safety and environmental requirements.
